 John Bickel

Before becoming affiliated with Avantt Consulting, John was a senior executive with Corning, Inc. His most recent position was as President & COO of a Corning acquisition.
Throughout his career at Corning, John gained a reputation for turning around troubled operations, doing so in the United States and Europe. He has significant P&L and operations experience, as well as M&A integrations and operations experience. His broad areas of expertise encompass virtually all facets of managing a business with extensive bottom line experience. Industry knowledge and experience includes manufacturing, high technology, and consumer products. He has demonstrated success in a wide variety of roles in corporate, education, the military and non-profits. He is known for his M&A integration abilities, being “cool under fire”, being a people first person and for developing talent. He is both a turn-around specialist and adept at managing corporate ‘hyper-growth’.
Before joining Corning, John spent 11 years in the U.S. Army, serving in Airborne, Ranger, and Special Forces units in the United States and Vietnam. He also was an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering at the United States Military Academy.
He holds a BS in Engineering from West Point, an MSEE from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from Long Island University. He also is a Registered Professional Engineer. |
