Ed Keating, a principal with Avantt Consulting, spoke at a conference on Protecting & Managing Online Content hosted by the National Conference & Research Group. Mr Keating was part of a roundtable discussion on Pricing and Marketing Strategies for Hosting, Delivering and Providing E-Content.
The conference was designed to sharpen the legal and business skills content providers need to manage and protect their e-content for maximum profit. This was achieved by bringing together faculty from a variety of industries to highlight the opportunities, challenges and solutions for providing content.
Keating and his colleagues shared their insights on the following topics:
• Establishing simple workable business models
• Drawing revenue from advertising, promotional placements and commerce
• Selecting fee structures (e.g., bounty, impression, enhanced content, click)
• The evolving role of retailers in the world of e-content
• Viable subscription services for music, entertainment and software
The conference was held December 9-10, 2002 at The Cornell Club New York in New York City.
