Corning, NY – Ed Keating, a principal with Avantt Consulting, moderated a panel of industry experts on the trend of software providers embedding content directly into their applications. The panel included Peter Berkery, Associate Publisher of CCH Incorporated, Chet Ensign, Senior Director of Architecture and Development Services for LexisNexis, Nathan Richardson, General Manager of Yahoo!Finance and attorney Ivan Wool, a Member of the firm Mintz Levin specializing in Corporate Transactions.

The well-attended panel covered issues of pricing, product development, promotion and distribution of products in this new environment. Panelists shared insights as to how they plan to remain competitive with general agreement that companies with specialized knowledge of the needs of specific market sectors are best positioned to capitalize on this trend. Wool pointed out the importance of managing the intellectual property issues that occur when software and content are merged but are owned by separate parties.
